Below you will find the final count of votes that were received between Friday night, June 19th - Monday at midnight, June 22nd. The votes include all ballots submitted online as well as during the community meeting held Monday, June 22nd and the polling places Saturday, June 20th. In addition to the 23 names originally listed on the ballot (bold), write-ins were tallied as well and are listed below. (Duplicate ballots/votes were removed as were out of area votes.) Well, the results are in. San Tan Valley was decisively selected with 17% of the over 1700 votes via email, on-line ballots, and paper ballots. The previously submitted name of Bella Vista came in second with 11% of the vote. |

Thank you to all of you that attended the community meeting tonight! I would also like to thank each and everyone of you that forwarded on an email, posted information on a blog, a website or a forum, spoke with a neighbor, casted a vote and volunteered in anyway to help get this issue out to the community. Without each and every one of you this community could not have come together and
our voice would not have been heard! THANK YOU! Ballots are still being counted and a result will be posted as soon as possible! I am working to get results out no later than Wednesday morning, if not sooner. Thousands of residents have cast their vote and to be sure that every vote counts, I need to be sure that all are processed. You will be notified as soon as a result is available! |
