Jack Malpass, area resident and past President of the San Tan Area Chamber of Commerce says efforts are being made to unify the Greater San Tan community and help residents have more identity and a voice. Several months ago, requests were made through local media to call out for input by residents in different areas within the San Tan communities. Informational meetings have been held with residents from the nine districts in the area. The districts included are San Tan Foothills, San Tan Heights, Morning Sun Farms, Johnson Ranch North, Johnson Ranch South, Copper Basin, Magma Ranch, Circle Cross Ranch and Castlegate. According to Malpass, the new organization has been named the Greater San Tan Area Coalition (GSTAC). The effort was initiated under sponsorship of the San Tan Area Chamber of Commerce. |
